On the first trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a 1.11% increase.

On Sunday, the NEPSE index rose by 29.82 points, reaching 2,693.12.

According to NEPSE, a total of 15,572,862 shares from 323 companies were traded 76,354 times, amounting to a total transaction of NPR 7.56 billion.

The sub-indices for mutual funds and trading groups declined by 0.15% and 0.26%, respectively, while all other sectoral indices showed gains.

In today’s trading, the finance sector increased by 2.01%, investment by 2.18%, and the others category by 2.08%.

The banking and financial sectors both rose by 0.82%, hotels and tourism by 1.41%, hydropower by 1.54%, life insurance by 0.85%, manufacturing and processing by 0.58%, microfinance by 0.62%, and non-life insurance by 0.78%.

Joshi Hydropower Development Company Limited saw the highest price gain of 9.97%, while Prabhu Smart Fund recorded the largest decline, dropping by 5.79%.

Based on transaction value, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited had the highest trading volume, with transactions worth NPR 691.97 million.

In terms of the number of shares traded, Nepal Investment Mega Bank Promoter Shares led the market, with 850,809 shares exchanged.
