The Indian government has signed an agreement to implement 10 high-impact community development projects in Nepal, focusing on education, health, and culture.
The agreement was signed by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal’s Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, and various project implementation agencies. A total of Rs 625 million has been committed for these projects.
According to the Indian Embassy, the projects will be carried out through Nepal’s local government bodies, including metropolitan cities, sub-metropolitan cities, municipalities, and rural municipalities. These initiatives aim to enhance education, healthcare services, and cultural facilities for communities across the country.
Since 2003, India has supported over 573 high-impact community development projects in Nepal. Of these, 495 have been completed across all seven provinces, covering sectors such as education, healthcare, roads, bridges, drinking water, electrification, irrigation, and social welfare. The remaining projects are in different stages of implementation.
