The Sirsiya-based Birgunj Dry Port Customs Office has collected Rs 41.18 billion in revenue during the first ten months of the current Fiscal Year (FY) 2024/25, achieving 68.58 percent of its annual target of Rs 60.04 billion.
Chief Customs Officer Dhan Bahadur Baruwal reported a year-on-year revenue increase of Rs 1.14 billion, marking a 2.85 percent rise compared to the same period last fiscal year when the office had collected Rs 40.03 billion.
Monthly revenue collections were as follows: Rs 3.75 billion in Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August), Rs 4.64 billion in Bhadra, Rs 4.36 billion in Ashoj, Rs 3.79 billion in Kartik, Rs 3.22 billion in Mangsir, Rs 3.56 billion in Poush, Rs 4.29 billion in Magh, Rs 4.68 billion in Falgun, Rs 4.5 billion in Chaitra, and Rs 4.34 billion in Baisakh (mid-April to mid-May).
Despite external economic pressures, the customs office has shown resilience in maintaining steady revenue growth.
