The government is set to present the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 during a joint meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the National Assembly at 4:00 pm on Friday.
Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has instructed lawmakers to attend the joint session before 3:45 pm on the scheduled day.
Since the promulgation of the Constitution in 2072 BS, Jestha 15 has been designated as the official date for the annual budget announcement.
The day also coincides with Republic Day celebrations in Nepal.
Speaker Aryal further informed lawmakers that the next meeting of the House of Representatives will take place at 5:30 pm on Friday.
