Women entrepreneurs learn the way to economic progress during China visit

Kathmandu, July 3: Dedicated and hard-working Chinese people are behind China’s economic growth in a short span of time. This is what a team of business women learned from their recent China visit. The women involving in Pokhara’s tourism sector have recently returned from their 11-day China visit organized by the Women Tourism Entrepreneurs Forum in a bid to promote tourism in Nepal.

Sharing her experience of the visit at a program here, WTEF President Jamuna Parajuli praised China government’s role in taking a stride of economic growth in a short span of time by identifying the economic area. Nepal could get prosperity in a short time by following China’s development model, she said. “We reached the main cities of China, Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shanghai. Chinese people of some cities were unaware of Nepal. Some of them identified us as Indian citizens.

We distributed pamphlets giving out information about Visit Nepal Year, 2020. We identified ourselves as citizens of the country of Sagarmatha (Mount Everest) and Gautam Buddha,” she said. Another team member, Uma Bhandari, Secretary of the WTEF, pointed out that the labor and dedication of Chinese people have helped with China’s economic transformation. Uma Kafle, one of the members of the visiting team, said many aspects of China are worth emulation, one of them being the maximum utilization of resources to attain economic self-sufficiency.

Maya Subedi said that China has been able to attract the world’s attention through many man-made marvels along with its natural landmarks which make it as a major destination for a study visit. Another member of the visiting team, Goma Bhandari said she was moved by the infrastructure development of China which showed that a nation need not wait for centuries to attain development provided that there are political will and a strong work ethic.Eighteen women tourism entrepreneurs associated with the Forum visited Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou in course of their study tour, program coordinator Sushila Sigdel said. The visit was coordinated by Top Views Holidays based in Beijing. The team visited China from June 19 through June 29.
