The 23rd Annual General Meeting of the Advertising Association of Nepal (AAN) was held in the capital under the chairmanship of Som Prasad Dhital. Secretary at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Baikuntha Aryal attended the program as the chief guest.

According to a statement issued by AAN, there was an interaction about the achievement of advertising objectives, facilitated by Chairman Som Prasad Dhital with Advertising Board Chairman Laxman Humagai as a panelist.

Similarly, the second session was moderated by Ranjit Raj Aacharya, AAN’s advisor. Media Society President Shubh Sankar Kadel, Media Alliance President Bhaskar Raj Rajkarnikar, President of Nepal Industry and Commerce Federation Shekhar Golcha and Secretary at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Baikunth Aryal were among the panelists in the session.

Advertising industry, laws, regulations, procedures from the program, less intensive member agencies, various inquiries and questions regarding the implementation of regulations and the code of conduct was also discussed.

FNCCI President Shekhar Golcha was a special guest in the program. Among the guests in the meeting were former presidents and office bearers of the AAN, representatives of the Advertisement Board and various associations and government agencies.

President Som Prasad Dhital, who is in the advertising field,  highlighted the problems seen in the advertising field and roles the government can play to solve the problems. He requested the government to take initiative to resolve the problems. “The Advertisement Board should be an autonomous body, but not as a branch of the ministry,” he said.

Advertisement Board Chairman Laxman Humagai said that the work is being done by the board and to be patient. He asked all the agencies and media to be listed on the board. Dinesh Shrestha, the Vice President of Federation of Commerce and Industry, also spoke as a guest in the program.

Communications and Information Technology Secretary Aryal highlighted the need to conduct market research. He also said that advertising agencies should take initiatives to increase expertise to emphasize capacity building.

On behalf of the 200 advertisers, media workers, in the large presence of representatives of government agencies, prestigious international and national of Nepal, Chaudhary Group, Ncell Ajita, Dabur Nepal, Bottlers Nepal Limited (Coca-Cola), Shankar Group, Jaulakhel Group of Industries, NIC Asia Bank Limited, Ministry of Health and Population and advertising agency Makeways, Outreach Nepal, The chief guest of the program Aryal and president of the association Som Prasad Dhital jointly honored the representatives of the organization.
