A six-point agreement has been established among the government, the contractor, and relevant authorities to expedite the upgrade and expansion of the Nagdhunga-Naubise-Malekhu-Mugling road. This decision came during an all-side meeting held at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructures and Transport on Friday.
The 94.7-km road is a crucial trade and transit route linking the Kathmandu Valley with the Terai region. Progress on the project had been hindered by various challenges. The meeting aimed to address these issues and provide momentum to the road project, which is financed by the World Bank.
Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, initiated the meeting to tackle the problems affecting the project. Attendees included Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Ramnath Adhikari, House of Representatives member Rajendra Pandey, former chief minister of Bagmati Province Shalikram Jamakattel, Minister Madhu Kumar Shrestha, and local representatives from the project area.
