Kathmandu, September 17 : The Airline Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) has come up with a discount offer targeting the upcoming festivals — Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals.
According to it, 10 percent discount on airfare will be provided to the passengers purchasing tickets from the counters of the association’s members during this festive season.
Members of the AOAN include Air Dynasty, Buddha Air, Kailash Helicopters, Mountain Helicopters, Saurya Airlines, Sita Air, Summit Air, Yeti Airlines, Altitude Air, Heli Everest, Manang Air, Prabhu Helicopter, Simrik Airlines, Summit Helicopters and Tara Air.
The scheme will be valid between September 29 and November 3 for only Nepali passengers not the foreign ones. However, the discount is not applicable to airport tax and fuel surcharge amount. It is also not available for tickets purchased from general sales agents of the airline companies.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation is preparing to provide 50 per cent discount on airfare for passengers above 70 years.
Recently, the ministry formed a taskforce to conduct a feasibility study to provide 50 per cent discount on airfare to senior citizens.
