June 16 : The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has said that all domestic and international flights will continue to remain suspended till July 5, 2020.
Such ban was first imposed on March 24 when the government announced the ongoing national lockdown to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since then all the commercial flights except the chartered ones have been prohibited from operating.
Special permission is required from the CAAN to operate the chartered flights for the specific purposes like repatriation, rescue and medical and other essential supplies.
The suspension period of all domestic and international commercial passenger flights has been extended till July 5, 2020, in accordance to the decision of the Council of Ministers, stated the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
