Lamahi, March 11: The manufacturing of re-usable masks is started in Dang following the shortage of medicated ones. Various groups here have started manufacturing re-useable masks after the scarcity of masks with the onset of the menace of coronavirus.

Lamahi is producing masks made up of cotton garment while Ghorahi is manufacturing masks made up of allo – a weaving thread. The allo-weaved masks have been made available in the market now. Each mask is priced at Rs 80. Local people also have started manufacturing masks after their shortage in the local market.

Similarly, the health institutions including state hospital Tulsipur and Rapti Life Care Hospital Tulsipur are starting using locally-manufactured masks for internal purpose.

Likewise, the masks made up of raw garments are also being made available at Lamahi market in Deukhuri. Doctors have also prescribed that the locally-produced masks can be used for a month after daily wash. Lately, the trend of wearing masks has increased among school students, government employees, entrepreneurs and the general public in Dang. Even children, youths and elderly people have started wearing masks to get prevented from the infection of coronavirus. Local consumers have felt a great deal of relief after the availability of allo-made masks at local market.

The Chinari Mahila Sajhedari Allo Udhyog Samuha has manufactured and made available allo masks in the market, shared Samuha chair Prem Kumari Pun. The group has taken ahead of the manufacturing of masks in a commercial manner lately. “We have come up with a plan to fulfill the growing need of masks at local market”, she added adding, “The allo-made masks can be re-used so its use is safer as well.” RSS
