Kanchanpur, July 10 : The Armed Police Force (APF) deployed for border security on Thursday (July 9) established four Border Outposts (BOPs) in different areas along the southern border belt.
In a bid to ramp up security along the border areas, the AFP set up these BOPs in Purnabas municiplaity-10 Dodha, Belauri municiplaity-2, Thapachowk, Ward-10 Bhuda of the same municipality and Mahakali municipality-1, Bailbanda in Kanchanpur district.
Deputy Inspector General and battalion commander of APF Number 7 Battalion Hari Shanker Budhathoki inaugurated all four BOPs. On the occasion, he said the setup of the BOPs would be a strategic move to check infiltration of Indians from border points.
Each BOP has been deployed with 35 APF personnel under the command of Inspector. It may be noted that the APF has been carrying out round-the-clock patrol so as to prevent cross-border crimes and encroachment. With the latest addition, the total number of BOPs is now 14 along the border area in the district.
