The Bagmati Province government has decided to maintain existing annual vehicle renewal tax rates for the fiscal year 2025/26, as per the newly endorsed provincial budget.

Despite expectations of revisions, no changes have been made to the tax structure. Vehicle owners will continue to pay taxes based on engine capacity, with rates ranging as follows:

Four-Wheelers:

  • Up to 1,000 cc: Rs 22,000
  • 3,500 cc and above: Rs 70,000

Two-Wheelers:

  • Up to 125 cc: Rs 3,000
  • 2,650 cc and above: Rs 35,000

The decision to retain existing rates comes as part of a broader effort to ensure predictability and consistency for vehicle owners across the province.

Meanwhile, online services for blue book renewal and tax payment remain temporarily suspended, as announced earlier by the provincial authorities.
