The central bank had opened the financial proposal only after shortlisting the firm based on technical criteria.

Howladar Yunus & Co. has signed a contract worth NPR 6,254,912 to audit the selected commercial banks.

The firm was chosen under Sub-section 2 of Section 38 of the Public Procurement Act, 2063 (2007).

Among six companies that had applied in Poush 2081 (December–January), only Howladar Yunus & Co. of Bangladesh passed the technical evaluation.

However, Satish Subedi, director of S. Subedi & Associates, representing competitor Mehra JKSS SSBDAI, filed a petition at the Supreme Court against Nepal Rastra Bank and the Public Procurement Monitoring Office.

Due to the writ, the central bank had paused the financial proposal process. But on Asar 9 (June 23, 2025), a joint bench of Justices Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma and Nripadhwaj Niraula did not extend the interim order, allowing NRB to proceed with the selection process.
