Kathmandu, August 4-A farmer in the Banke district is earning handsome money from honey bee farming. Thal Bahadur Thapa generates as much as Rs 450 thousand as his yearly income from his Tara Bee Farm, reports Avenues Television.
He produces 8 to 10 quintal of honey from 30 beehives in two seasons to make this amount of earning. His firm Moreover, he is planning to produce more honey from additional 30 beehives. After this, the farmer hopes to increase his income more than double to Rs 1 million. ‘By producing 20 quintal of honey through 60 beehives in total, I could earn this level of money,’ says Thapa. Thapa seems determined to achieve his professional goals through hard-work.
In fact, as a recognition of his efforts towards enhancing bee farming, Khajura rural municipality has offered him good assistance through the Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project. Such assistance includes the required training and tools to make modern beehives.
Tara Bee Farm is currently supplying its products to the markets of Banke, Bardiya, Kathmandu, Pokhara etc.
