Banking offenses have significantly increased across Nepal, with 4,359 cases reported in the first four months of the 2024/25 fiscal year. This marks an increase of 169 cases compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Nepal Police.
The Kathmandu Valley recorded the highest number of banking offense cases, totaling 2,629 incidents. In comparison, the national total for the first four months of the 2023/24 fiscal year was 4,190 cases.
Over the last four months, Nepal Police registered a total of 19,498 criminal cases, with banking offenses leading the count. In the entire fiscal year 2023/24, Nepal Police handled 13,263 banking crime cases across the country.
