Banking service yet to reach two rural municipalities of Bajura

Martadi, December 23: Banking service is yet to reach Swamikartik rural municipality and Jagannath rural municipality in the eastern north of Bajura. Two-and-a-half years have elapsed since the people’s representatives are in place, the banking service has yet to come under people’s reach.

Arjun Bista, a local of Jagannath rural municipality, complained that they are compelled to walk a long distance to Budhinanda municipality for banking transaction There is no banking institution at Piluchaur – the center of Swamikartik rural municipality. It has been a tough time for locals to rush to Budhinanda municipality for banking service. In absence of banking service in both the rural municipalities, the locals here have been compelled to go to Rastriya Banijya Bank in Budhinanda municipality for the service. It may be noted that the rural municipalities are trying their best to ensure banking access in their areas soon. Banking service in seven local levels Apart from two rural municipalities, banking service has been accessible in other seven local levels of the district.

It has made people easier for financial transactions through banking service. Chhaka Bahadur Malla, a local from Budhinanda municipality-4, said access to banking service in their doorstep has ended the compulsion to go outside for banking transactions. “We used to walk two days to reach the district headquarters for banking service, But the service has come closer with the people’s representatives are in place”, he added.
