Kathmandu, October 21: The commercial banks have decided not to open their branch offices during the holidays of the Dashain festival. They made such a decision citing the risks posed by the increasing infection rates of COVID-19 in the country.
“During the festival holidays last year, we had opened our branch offices. But, this year, the same will not happen since the alarmingly growing cases of COVID-19 could pose serious health hazard to both the bank staffers and customers, Anil Sharma, Executive Officer, Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA). According to him, the all branch offices of all commercial banks will be closed from October 23 to 27.
He, however, said that the customers can fully enjoy the digital banking services considering the current critical period.
