Welcome gates have been set up at various places in Gaddachauki. The publicity means to attract and facilitate tourists, said the municipality mayor Surendra Bahadur Bista. “As a result, tourists can easily know and get specialties of tourist destinations,” he said.

The municipality has announced to celebrate ‘tourism and infrastructure year, 2019’ to make the Visit Nepal Year 2020 a success. Under this drive, a Shuklaphanta tourism festival was organized last year to promote tourism in the National Park. The weeklong festival had managed to attract 2000 tourists. Construction of a Shuklaphanta tourist path has been underway from a suspension bridge to Bagphanta.

Tourists can view the suspension bridge, elephant stables, and crocodiles following the construction. A concrete road and a trekking route have been constructed leading to Jhilmila lake. The municipality has a plan to manage a picnic spot at Tarakot, while a feasibility study has been conducted to operate a cable car service from Brahmadev to Jhilamila.

A religious tourism route has been constructed. Solar street lights have been installed in the suspension bridge area in coordination with the Nepal Tourism Board. The municipality has pledged Rs 10 million for under-construction 75 feet high statue of ‘Nepal Aama’ in Bhamkeni Dham. Likewise, the process to construct a park in the suspension bridge area has started. RSS
