The reconstruction of the BP Highway, which was damaged by floods in mid-September last year, is moving forward swiftly. On Tuesday, the Road Division Office, Bhaktapur, invited bids for the second phase of the project.
Last week, the Road Division Office, Sindhuli, had already issued the contract for the Sindhuli section. Now, the second phase of reconstruction in the Kavre section, spanning approximately 8 kilometers from Dallabesi to Charsyabesi, is open for bidding.
The division has allocated a budget of Rs 2.5 billion for this phase. Construction companies interested in the contract must submit a security deposit of over Rs 65 million. Only two more sections remain to be assigned, with one still under consideration for construction by Japan.
The deadline for submitting applications is 30 days. Following this, technical and financial evaluations will take place, and the contract agreement is expected to be finalized within two and a half months. The project duration is set for two years, with a total budget of Rs 8.5 billion allocated for all sections.
