Cabinet gives permission for acquisition of land to extend ring road

The government has given permission for the acquisition of land for the second phase of Ring Road expansion works in the capital.

The recent cabinet meeting gave such permission for the acquisition of land to extend the road with 31/31 meters along the Kalanki-Maharajgunj-Dhobikhola ring road sections.

 The 8.2-km-long stretch will be widened to 60 meters and will comprise an eight-lane road along with additional six-meter-wide lanes on both sides of the road for easy pedestrian movement

According to the government spokesperson Gokul Banskota, the cabinet has decided to assign the officials to forward the preliminary process for the acquisition of lands for nine hydro projects. The meeting has also decided to register 110 ropani of land in the name of national forest nullifying its previous registration in the name of Swayambhu based Ghyangguthi.

The meeting appointed Prem Nath Adhikari as chairperson of the cultural corporation and Ashok Kumar Rai as general manager and reappointed Naresh Raj Aryal as banking member of the Debt Recovery Tribunal. Similarly, it was also decided upon to repatriate four Egyptians living illegally in Nepal for long.

The meeting approved the consumer protection guidelines, 2076, guidelines to mobilize foreign development aid at state and local levels, 2076, one-health concept, 2076, integrated legal remedy policy, 2076, procedures to operate administrative infrastructure development programs at local level, 2076 and procedure to operate president women advancement programs.
