Cabinet meeting: Govt. to bear treatment expenses of injured

Kathmandu, April 2: The cabinet meeting concluded that the government has decided to bear all the expenses of the treatment of those injured in the storm that took place in Bara and Parsa on Sunday evening.

An emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the official residence of Prime Minister at Baluwatar on Monday (April 1) decided that there should be no any weakness in the rescue and treatment of those injured in the incident.

A total of 27 people, including four Indian nationals, were killed and over 600 injured in the incident. 

Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Spokesperson of the government Gokul Prasad Banskota said that the government would make arrangement of compensation for the bereaved families while taking care of the expenses of treatment of those injured ones in the incident. 

Paying homage to the department souls, the government has decided to mourn the death of the deceased ones, said Minister Banskota. 

Similarly, the meeting also extended condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured ones. 

Furthermore, the government has decided to mobilize a team of health workers and doctors with medicine to Bara and Parsa to prevent the possible outbreak of the epidemic. 

The government also decided to launch the emergency services in the incident sites as drinking water, communications among others. 

Similarly, the meeting has decided to direct the concerned agencies to observe precaution to prevent further damages in the areas. 
The meeting also directed the Home Ministry to make arrangement of rescue, relief and shelter at disaster-hit areas by mobilizing administrative bodies, security bodies, local levels, private, social organisations and non government orgnaisations in this hour of sorrow. 
Minister Banskota said that necessary decision would be taken regarding the rehabilitation and reconstruction after final details of the losses of lives and property caused by the storm. 

He said, “Local levels, state government and federal government should carry out works at storm-hit areas in a coordinative way.” 

The government also thanked all walks of life for their support in rescuing people, providing relief as well as other support in such disaster.
