Call center launched for migrant workers

Kathmandu, April 2: The Ministry of Labor Employment and Social Security has launched a call center with an aim to facilitate the migrant workers resolve difficulties at home and abroad.

With such call center coming into operations, both prospective migrant workers and those in work destinations can lodge complaints of fraud, seek legal counselling or any kind of assistance from authorities concerned.

Migrant can do so through phone, email and social media applications such as viber, what’s app and IMO among others.

The complaints would be forwarded to the department concerned for further processing. Migrants can lodge their complaints or seek service by dialing toll free numbers 1141 or 16600150005 or 9771597008.

Migrant workers are increasingly facing various problems at home and abroad due to poor inspection and monitoring mechanism by the agencies concerned.
