Lamjung, August 21: The first Canoeing festival 2076 BS is taking place in Besishahar municipality-1, Dalal for unleashing tourism potentials. It is to be held around Gaikhure fall along Dumre Besishahar road stretch on 23-24, August. Rishi Basnet, Chair of Environment Improvement Campaign, said the festival is being hosted to contribute to make the Tourism Year 2020 a success.
He further said the first-ever canoeing festival is to be marked this year by managing the fall in a more systematic way. Last year the place saw canoeing and other programs.
Most of the preparatory works in relation to the festival are already complete, the host said. On occasion, local artists and DJ are delivering their different performances. Roughly 10,000 to 15,000 visitors from different parts are expected to experience canoeing. Cost Rs 4.5 million is estimated for the festival operation.
Likewise, international canoeing is also to take place here in 2020 and 260 visitors are expected to experience canoeing adventure on the occasion. The Gaikhure fall is around 70 meters long. RSS
