Canyoning in Pokhara comes into operation after 7 months

Pokhara, October 13: The canyoning activities in Pokhara that were suspended owing to the nationwide lockdown imposed on March 24 for fighting the COVID-19 pandemic have been re-operated after a hiatus of seven months.

Ram Gurung of Pokhara Canyoning at Machhapuchre Rural Municipality-9 in Kaski district said that all the health safety measures were put in place to reoperate the adventurous sport in Pokhara as well as to revive the adventurous tourism in the City that is emerging as an adventurous sports hub .

Gurung explained, “There is no alternative to breathing a new life into the adventurous tourism that has been flagging since the COVID-19 crisis. We should not live under the fear and bring everything into standstill. Instead, we should observe all the precautions and move ahead.” The domestic tourists seeking thrill through canyoning would be completely ensured a safe environment from the Coronavirus infection, assured Gurung.

Canyoning came into operation in Pokhara since 2014. The 75-metre and 45-metre waterfall at Lwang Ghale, some 22 kilo metres away from Pokhara, have been ideal places for canyoning. RSS
