CG Motors, the official distributor of Xpeng vehicles, celebrated the inauguration of its flagship showroom in Thapathali, Kathmandu, on Saturday. The event, attended by delegates from the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu and Xpeng Motors, marked a significant step in the expansion of the Xpeng brand into Nepal.
Dr. Brian Gu, Vice Chairman and President of Xpeng Motors, delivered the keynote address, introducing the brand to the media and sharing insights into its global mission. Nirvana Chaudhary, Managing Director of Chaudhary Group, highlighted CG Motors’ accomplishments and its future ambitions.
The press statement issued by CG Motors emphasized that the opening of the showroom and the launch of the G6 “Ultra Smart Coupe SUV” signifies Xpeng’s commitment to the vision of “Leading the Future of AI Mobility.” With advanced AI-integrated vehicles already in over 30 countries, Xpeng has partnered with Volkswagen, one of the world’s leading automotive companies, to further expand its global presence.
As part of the inauguration, CG Motors handed over the first 25 units of the G6 to its initial customers. The G6 boasts an array of impressive features, including a 5-Star E-NCAP safety rating, advanced autonomous driving technology, SEPA 2.0 structure, regular OTA updates, the XOS operating system, and 800V super-fast charging capabilities.
Under the hood, the G6 is powered by a 190 kW motor with 440 Nm of torque and is equipped with a 66 kWh battery offering a range of up to 435 km. Notable design features include a 50:50 weight distribution, aluminum die-cast body, and a 9-dimensional battery safety structure, making it a standout in its segment.
CG Motors, which currently operates over 20 sales and service outlets across Nepal, plans to expand its network to 40 locations by the end of the year. The company is also set to add 200 new charging points to its existing infrastructure, which includes more than 244 DC fast-charging stations.
