Expansion of Chabahil-Sankhu roadway  will complete this year: Minister Nembang

Kathmandu, December 13: The government is planning to accomplish the expansion of Chabahail-Sankhu roadway in this current fiscal year. The contract for the expansion of the roadway was made four years back. Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Transport Basanta Kumar Nembang made an onsite visit to the roadway along with former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal. “I’m ready to complete the upgrading of the road,” Minister Nembang made commitment before the former Prime Minister.

On the occasion, senior leader of the ruling NCP and former Prime Minister Nepal said he frequently inspected the road expansion works and furnished suggestions accordingly. He also reminded me that he was ready to extend any sort of help from his side to complete the road upgrading in time.

Technological assistance could be needed to control landslide in two places, he added. State Assemblymember Rameshwor Phuyal said everyone needs to extend help from his/her side to solve problems hindering the expansion drive. He made a commitment that he would also assist in removing poles and electric cables from the expansion site. Minister Nembang further reminded that government had prioritized the completion of the pending development activities.

Similarly, the Development Commissioner of Kathmandu Valley Development Authority, Bhaikaji Tiwari, suggested the contractor take together police personnel while determining the space for road expansion. The inspection team garnered the views from local people.
