Kathamadu, July 1-China has donated two broomer machines to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City on July 31.
While Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli visited the Chinese capital, Beijing, in June, the Chengdu Municipal Association of China had promised to gift the machines to the KMC.
Nevertheless, the Association handed over the keys of the machines to the KMC Environment Management Division
It is reported that the machines will arrive in Kathmandu in the next two months. The broomers, which are 8.6 meter long and 3.5 meter wide, boast of Euro Standard 4. They each are capable of collecting seven cubic meter dust at once and can carry equal amount of water. A broomer can run at a speed of 98 km/per hour with a capacity to clean up from 3 to 20 km road/ per hour.
According to reports, the KMC is planning to purchase five other broomer machines on its own with the next two months.
