Construction works of mega projects resume amid lockdown

Bhojpur, April 21 : Despite the ongoing lockdown in the wake of COVID-19, the construction works of different mega projects have been resumed here in the district by considering safety aspects of the concerned workers.    
Such works resumed after the government gave approval for the same by applying the required security measures.    
The District Administration Office said that the labourers involved in such projects are prevented from going out while others from outside are also not permitted to enter into the site.

   Basanta Raj Puri, Chief District Officer of Bhojpur, said that needed support will be provided in coordination with concerned local levels in case of any disruption in the projects.    


Currently, the construction works have resumed for bridges over Pikhula, Kawa, Siktel and Ari rivers, the District Administration Office said.    
Furthermore, such works related to hydropower projects like Taksar-Pikhuwakhola, Irkhuwakhola, Chirkhuwa and also other development projects have also restarted amid the lockdown.    


The vehicles being used for the supplies of construction materials are given pass while the workers have maintained social distancing along with their health tests, Puri added.    
However, the construction works of Mid Hills Highway is yet to resume for the absence of the related workers. RSS
