After inspecting various development activities as construction of bridges and roads in Rupandehi district yesterday, Minister Nembang reiterated that the contractors delaying projects and avoiding responsibilities would have their agreement broken.

“The government has taken seriously the delayed construction of Lumbini-Bhairahawa roadway in the wake of Visit Year 2020,” he said, directing all concerned to finish at least blacktopping of one way Bhairahawa-Lumbini road by the end of December. “The tourists visiting Lumbini in Visit Year 2020 must not be hassled for inconvenience of transport,” he stressed.

The construction of two river bridges along the road would be built even by assigning another contractor, he made it clear. The bridges would be of two lanes. According to the Minister, a detailed project report (DPR) of tunnel construction at Siddhababa area was completed and tender notice for construction will be issued within a month.

On another note, he expressed commitment to complete the Narayangadh-Butwal road section along the East-West highway in time. He added that the extension of the road section was the first step of expansion of the East-West Highway therefore it was in high priority to the Ministry.

Minister Nembang shared that however, the extension of the road section delayed due to some technical cause but would be accelerated it soon. He added that he had directed the contractor company to complete the task on time. On another note, he said that the district headquarters of Nawalparasi east would be made highly planned and sophisticated. RSS
