Kathmandu, November 5 : 3,051 new COVID-19 cases have been reported today, thus taking the total number of such cases in the country to 185,974, said the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
Of the total 13,068 real time polymerase chain reaction tests carried out in 70 labs, 1,842 males and 1,209 females were newly diagnosed with the viral infection.
In the past 24 hours, 3,430 people recovered from the infection, thus increasing the total recoveries in the country to 148,408. Similarly, the number of COVID-19 deaths reported in the past 24 hours stood at 18. With this, such fatalities has totaled 1,052 in the country.
The country has so far conducted a total 1,507,190 PCR tests to confirm the infection since the first test had been carried out on January 23 earlier this year.
Of the 3,051 new cases of coronavirus reported today across the nation, 1,878 are from the Kathmandu Valley alone. With this, the total number of people suffering the disease in the valley has reached 82,946. The very figure represents 44.6 percent of the total infections reported in the country.
