Kathmandu, August 12 : A total of 484 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed today, thus taking the total tally to 24,432 in the country. The latest cases were found through 10,481 PCR tests carried out in laboratories across the country.
Similarly, eight people died of the virus in the past 24 hours, thus pushing total such deaths in the country to 91.
Among those losing lives today, two are from Dhanusa and one each from Kathmandu, Dhading, Saptari, Morang, Kapilvastu and Bara, according to Ministry of Health and Population spokesperson Dr Jageswar Gautam.
Meanwhile, 131 people were confirmed positive to the coronavirus in the Kathmandu valley today. Likewise, 64 people recovered from COVID-19 today, taking the total number of recovery cases to 16,728. This is 68 per cent recovery, said Dr Gautam at the daily MoHP press briefing. The total active case remains at 7,613 in the country. So far, 472,000 PCR tests for the didease have been done. —
