May 13 : 86 new COVID-19 cases have been reported on Tuesday (April 12). This is the highest jump so far in the single day that pushed the total number of such cases in Nepal to 217.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the new cases were confirmed from tests conducted at the National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL) in Kathmandu.
Of the total patients contracting coronavirus yesterday, 57 tested positive for the disease in the afternoon and the remaining 26 in the evening. The former includes eight males from the Kapilvastu district, nine men from Rupandehi, 39 other males from Parsa and a man from Bara.
Similarly, the latter consists of eight males from Kapilvastu district, nine men from Rupandehi, 39 males from Parsa, a man from Bara, a man and a woman from Bhaktapur, a female from Kathmandu and a man from Sarlahi district.
Of the total of 217 cases reported til date, 33 have recovered, 3 readmitted and no one died.
