Chitwan, July 21: Preparations are in full swing to operate a cruise ship in the Narayani River in view of the Visit Nepal Year 2020. It is said the cruise ship would come into operation before coming to Dashain. Rhino Water Entertainment Pvt organized a press meet here Saturday, July 21, and shared information about the operation of the cruise ship.

Managing Director of the company, Ramchandra Kandel, informed that after the feasibility study, the preparation for the cruise ship was accelerated and reached the final stage. It would be operated before the Dashain festival, he added. Port and cruise were being built at Kavreghat of Gyaneshwor Community Forest in Bharatpur Municipality-16.

The ship was being made by forging 20 years’ contract with Gyaneshwor Community Forest. The cost for the operation is estimated to be Rs 350 million, according to Kandel. The ship focused on tourism, goes for three hours on a trip. Breakfast in morning cruise, lunch at day and dinner in the evening are served to the passenger. The travel to begin from Kavreghat reaches Golaghat of Devghat completing 25 km. There would be 200 passengers at a time in the cruise ship having two stories. The upper story is open.

According to Kandel, ship fitting works and preparedness for the operations are going on with special attention to the physical safety of service recipients and environment conservation. For the time being, crew members and technicians meant for the operation of cruise ship have been hired from abroad, but in the long run, such human resources will be produced at home. The fitting works have begun with the help of Indian technicians through the use of Norwegian technology.

The Indian company Gandeur Marine International has already undertaken such projects successfully in India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Dubai and Singapore. The head of the double-engine cruise ship is like of head of the one-horned rhino and its speed will be 1.8 kilometres per hour. RSS
