DAOs directed to facilitate transportation of veggies

June 4 : The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed all 77 District Administration Offices (DAOs) in the country to facilitate the farmers in the transportation of agro produce to the markets.

This came in the wake of the instances of the concerned authorities, including the DAOs themselves, destroying such produce, especially veggies, in various districts for the fear of the spread of the COVID-19.

The MoHA sent a communiqué to all the DAOs yesterday instructing them to carry out necessary works to enable the the farmers producing the agricultural products to enjoy an easy access to the market.”

“In line with the request of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, the Home Ministry has also instructed the said offices to check the acts of destroying of vegetable and also book those who are indulged in such activities,” MoHA information officer Uma Kant Adhikari said.
