Ticket booking for passengers travelling to their hometowns for this year’s Dashain festival will open on October 9.
A meeting held between the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs and the Department of Transportation Management decided to begin ticket sales from that date.
Federation Chair Punya Prasad Sitaula and Department Director General Rajeev Pokharel represented their respective sides at the meeting.
Speaking after the meeting, Pokharel said the department is committed to ensuring that public transportation services during Dashain are safe, accessible and well-managed.
Passenger movement from Kathmandu Valley to various parts of the country increases significantly during Dashain as people travel home for the festival. Pokharel said coordination among concerned government agencies and transport entrepreneurs is necessary to ensure passengers can obtain tickets conveniently and reach their destinations safely and comfortably.
