Kathmandu, July 15 : Chandra Prasad Dhakal has announced his candidacy for the post of senior Vice-President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) in the upcoming election.

Dhakal also made announcement here yesterday for his group who will be vying for various posts in the largest umbrella organizations representing the private sector in the country. Gunanidhi Tiwari has announced to vie for vice-president in district/town chapter of FNCCI. Tiwari is currently serving as the chairperson of FNCCI’s Committee for State No 5. Likewise, in Vice-president (commodity) Vice-President Umesh Lal Shrestha is likely to retain the post. Ramchandra Sanghai will be contesting election for Associate Vice-President post.

The sitting Vice-President of the FNCCI will be automatically elected as the President in the next election. The Federation is going to organize national convention on August 10 and 11. Announcing candidacy, vice-president Dhakal underscored coordinated effort between the government and the private sector to wade through the COVID-19 pandemic and tackle the economic slowdown due to the pandemic.

“My team has experienced people. We have entrepreneurs running small and medium scale to big enterprises,” Dhakal shared. He added that his team had access from village to the policy level. He pledged to be with other entrepreneurs for the greater good of the Federation although he and his team are vying in the upcoming election.
