Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, has said diplomats can play significant role to promote tourism in Nepal.
At an interaction with the recently proposed and appointed ambassadors to different countries at the ministry on Monday, Minister Shrestha argued the role of diplomats and diplomatic arena was an important platform to attract tourists in Nepal. He sought activism from them.
The Tourism Minister further said the diplomats could introduce new schemes to attract tourists, foreign investment and enhance people-to-people relations.
He also vowed to ensure the safety of air flights and at airports for the expansion of tourism. Minister Shrestha also informed that the Government of India has been requested to allow or open a new air route to Nepal.
