Direct flights between Nepal and Sri Lanka will begin from Tuesday.
Sri Lankan Ambassador to Nepal Himali Arunatilka tweeted that the direct flights between Kathmandu-Colombo will start from Tuesday.
Spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Raj Kumar Chhetri informed that Kathmandu-Colombo flights will be operated twice, every Tuesday and Saturday of the week. Spokesperson Chhetri said, “Summer schedule for direct Kathmandu-Colombo flight has been approved till September 4.”
Kathmandu-Colombo fares range from a minimum of $599 to a maximum of $ 1,158. The flight will be operated by SriLankan Airlines, the national flag carrier of Sri Lanka. The direct flight between the two countries is expected to boost tourism and enhance people-to-people contact between the two countries.
