Khasyauli, June 16: A discussion was held in Bhairahawa in order to make the national identity card, social security and civil registration effective. At the program organized on Saturday (June 15), Director General of the National ID and Civil Registration Department Dipak Kafley said that the discussion has been initiated nationwide in order to facilitate the distribution of social security allowance, implement the national ID distribution program and make the management of civil registration more effective.
Stating that civil registration was essential in order to maintain integrated records of all the citizens, he said that the distribution of the national ID card will also address tax avoidance and non-tax revenue management. On the occasion, Chief District Officer of Rupandehi Arjun Pokharel said that civil registration has been a problem in many districts and suggested to maintain records of the foreigners also.
Deputy Mayor of Butwal Sub-metropolis Goma Acharya shared that the Sub-metropolis had begun its own civil registration program. The government plans to distribute the National ID Card in the form of the biometric smart card in 15 districts in the coming fiscal year. The distribution began from Paanchthar district in November 2018.
