Kathmandu, August 2-All industries need to submit their progress reports of the Fiscal Year 2017/18 to the government by mid-January 2019.
The Industrial Enterprise Act 2073 BS that was implemented from the past fiscal year has made such provision. As per this provision, the industries should report to the government within six months after the end of the fiscal year.
The Department of Industry (DoI) has said that it plans to soon introduce the Industrial Statistics Entry System in order to enable the industries to forward their details including production capacity, among others, via the online system. After holding talks with professional business organisations including the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry on July 29, the department informed that the industries will be notified to report to the government through a public notice to be issued soon.
Till now, the industries have been adopting voluntary reporting system based on papers. The new online system shall keep records of the industries like their types, details of goods and services and data of production. Such system is expected to play vital role while framing long-term strategies for the country’s industrial development.
Industries have to log into the portal < doind.gov.np > to submit their reports, according to the DoI.
