Kathmandu, July 3 : The Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) has filed cases against three firms for their involvement in using fake value added tax (VAT) bills, according to media reports.
They-New Sagar Plastic Concern, Supreme Plastic Concern and Becoi and Sky Bagalamukhi JV- were found to have evaded the government revenue amounting to a total of Rs 406.10 million through such bills.
In the cases filed at the Patan High Court on Wednesday (July 1), the DRI accused Sanju Kiju, proprietor of New Sagar Plastic Concern and Sagar Kiju, owner of Supreme Plastic Concern of dodging their taxes worth Rs 268.20 million and Rs 57.70 million respectively.
In the same vein, Roshan Kumar Shrestha of Becoi and Sky Bagalamukhi JV is charged for evading the tax of Rs 80.10 million.
According to the DRI, it will impose a fine worth double the amount in questions in cash penalty on the accused.
