The price of eggs has surged significantly, rising four times within the first 20 days of Mangsir (November/December). The Nepal Layers Poultry Farmers Association (NLPFA) has revised the support price, which will take effect from Tuesday. With this change, egg prices now stand considerably higher than they were at the beginning of the month.
According to the NLPFA, the price of large eggs was Rs 450 per crate on November 19. By December 8, it had increased to Rs 565 per crate — a rise of Rs 115 within the period. Prior to this, the association had raised prices on November 19, followed by additional hikes on the 23rd and 29th.
