EKK Infrastructure has been awarded a contract worth Rs 1.5 billion to build roads, footpaths, and drainage systems in Siddharthanagar, Rupandehi. The company was selected after a competitive bidding process, where it submitted the lowest bid of Rs 1.18 billion, which was Rs 1.5 million less than the other bidders. This project, part of the “Urban Resilience and Livability Improvement Project,” will also develop the Danda River corridor and include features such as bicycle lanes, canals, and expanded road networks.
The project is funded by a concessional loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), as part of a broader initiative to improve infrastructure in several municipalities, including Siddharthanagar, Pokhara, Janakpur, Lumbini, Saina Maina, Tilottama, and Devdaha. The ADB’s Rs 6 billion loan will support road expansion and other infrastructure upgrades in these areas.
EKK Infrastructure was chosen for its competitive bid, although several other companies, such as Sharma & Company, Kalika Construction, and SPGC-Kumar JV, also passed the technical evaluation and were considered for the project.
