Kathmandu, April 19: Manisha Koirala, a popular actress in Bollywood (Indian film industry), said the base camp of the world’s highest peak Mount Everest (Sagarmatha) was one of the most beautiful destinations of the globe. At a press conference organised here on Thursday (April 18 ) after her return from base camp trekking, Manisha recounted her adventurous experience.
“It has fulfilled my desire I had since my childhood”, she noted, adding with the recent experience she was eager to trek to Annapurna and Manaslu regions next time. Actress Koirala had embarked on her trekking to the base campo fhte world’s summit in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) so as to contribute to promote country’s tourism.
On the occasion, she also shared that she would prepare a documentary of the Everest Base Camp. It would believably spread the message of incredible beauty of the base camp to the globe and promote Nepal’s tourism. She also pointed out the need for the state to lay special emphasis on improving livelihood of Sherpa community in the base camp area.
Also speaking on the occasion, Deepak Raj Joshi, NTB Chief Executive Officer, expressed his confidence that the celebrity’s trekking to Everest base camp would help boost up tourism in the country.
