The ‘Expo Nepal 2024’ has kicked off in Brazil’s capital Brasilia today under the aegis of the Embassy of Nepal and Rock Siddhi Pvt. Ltd.

In the opening ceremony featuring Brazil’s Minister for Labour, Deputy Minister for Tourism and Executive Secretary, Deputy Minister for Law, Brazil’s Federal Court Judge, President of Brazilian Travel Agency Association (ABB), President of the Brazilian National Industry Confederation, among others, were present, the Brasilia-based Nepali Embassy said. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauding the natural beauty and cultural heritages of Nepal expressed the confidence that the expo would bring new dimensions to the bilateral relations between Nepal and Brazil.

As many as 20 countries ambassadors were present in the expo held at the invitation of the Nepali Embassy. Nepal’s Ambassador to Brazil, Nirmal Raj Kafle shed light on the friendly and cordial relations between Nepal and Brazil on the occasion. He said the expo could be a medium to connect Brazilian nationals with Nepal.

Also on the occasion, general-secretary of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) Binod Sapkota said the event would impart message to the Brazilin nationals about Nepal and motivate them to visit the Himalayan country. Although Nepal is geographically distant from Brazil, the embassy’s efforts to connect with Nepal are positive as it is a large economy, he said.

Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI)’s General Manager Deepak Raj Joshi urged the investors to visit Nepal without any fear as the country is geographically and naturally similar to Brazil. Nepali entrepreneurs have set up 22 exhibition halls in the ‘Expo Nepal 2024’, organized with the objective of providing information about various sectors of Nepal.

The exhibition hall has offered various attractive packages for those willing to visit Nepal, as well as Nepali original food dishes, Nepali carpets and wooden items reflecting Nepali art and culture. The expo, which began on March 1, will continue till March 3.
