Pokhara, April 12: Preparation for the celebration of ‘Fewa New Year Festival-2076 BS’ has been completed. The three-day 16th edition of Fewa New Year Festival is taking place at Komagane Park on the banks of Fewa Lake from today.
The Western Hotel Association has been organising this event every year. Among the prime focus of the festival are food, culture and music, said Bikal Tulachan, Chairperson of the Association. Arrangement has been made to offer 22 varieties of Nepali food to visitors in the festival.
Over 100,000 people, including foreign and domestic tourists are expected to participate in the festival, he informed, adding competition on cultural procession and Gandaki state-level dance competition would also be featured on the occasion. Bharat Raj Parajuli, immediate past Chairperson of the Association, said 15 percent discount has been offered in the menu of member hotels of the Association on the occasion.
Mani Lamichhane, chief of Nepal Tourism Board Gandaki State Office, informed that the preparation for announcing visit year was almost in final phase. The Board was also coordinating with the Gandaki State government to make it’s Domestic Tourism Year-2019 a success, he added.
