Financial Commission to be formed to facilitate implementation of federalism

Kathmandu, December 18 : The meeting of the Inter-provincial Council held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli dwelt on how the implementation of federalism could be facilitated and accelerated.
The meeting decided to form the financial commission by the end of Poush in line with the work plan prepared by the taskforce led by Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa. Similarly, the structure of the Council would be finalized by the end of Magh to ensure, rights and responsibilities of the province. The next month would then finalize the necessary laws on it.
Till the formation of the provincial public service commission, the federal PSC would manage the employees needed in the provinces based on the need and request. However, the employee adjustment and appointments would be completed within this month.
Province 2 Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut shared that the Inter Provincial Council meeting held on Tuesday endorsed the report of the Home Minister’s taskforce with amendments after thorough discussion. Now it would help accelerate the activities at provinces, he added.
“The meeting Tuesday facilitated the schemes to solve the problems ranging from formulation of laws to continuation of the projects at provinces,” he believed.
In the meeting, PM Oli gave words to make effective the works at provinces and take initiative to solve the problems, reminded Chief Minister Raut.
The meeting of the Inter Provincial Council was demanded to solve the problems facing on sharing the rights and authorities between the central and provincial governments and implementation of the constitution, budget and policies.
PM Oli underscored the need of having cordial relations among the federal, provincial and local level governments. Receiving the report of the inter provincial coordination taskforce report at Singha Durbar on Tuesday, PM Oli said it was not good to make uproar on mutual relations among the three-tier of governments.
“All need to exercise sovereignty in a right way. The system we adopted now has given opportunity to all. As it is new, it may take time for us to be accustomed to it, but we’re in right system,” PM Oli concluded. RSS
