Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the public officials handling public funds and authority should maintain fiscal discipline by discharging their duty in a more transparent, accountable and legal manner.
The PM was speaking at a program organized by the Office of the Auditor-General in regard to the Audit Report of the FY 2076/77. The PM also directed the officials to maintain fiscal discipline in course of the transaction of public funds, justify the relevance of expenses, ensure the growth of productivity and abide by economic procedures.
PM Deuba also directed the Chief Secretary and Secretaries of the government to strictly follow the Public Procurement Act and other laws. On the occasion, Auditor General Tanka Mani Sharma Dangal also made his presentation. Similarly, PM Deuba has drawn the attention of the government public office-bearers to make their role further effective and mobilize the public resources to meet the people’s expectations.
A spokesperson at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Krishna Bahadur Raut said that PM Deuba directed the officials to make their working style smart.
