Four companies listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) have begun issuing right shares to their shareholders, while 11 others are awaiting regulatory approval from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON).
Of the four companies that received SEBON’s clearance, three are hydropower firms—Joshi Hydropower, Barun Hydropower, and People’s Power Limited—and one is an insurer, Nepal Insurance Company. These firms have opened their right share offerings for subscription.
Meanwhile, 11 more companies are in the pipeline, seeking SEBON’s nod to proceed. They include five hydropower companies, four insurance companies, and one each from the investment and manufacturing & processing sectors. Collectively, these companies aim to issue right shares worth over Rs 5.70 billion to their shareholders.
