Team NEPO organized a free medical camp at Nawajyoti Primary School, Panga, Kirtipur, Kathmandu for the differently-abled. A total of twenty-nine people with disabilities received services from the camp, of which most were visually impaired.
Alongside, senior citizens also received the service from the same camp today. According to a press release, the organization Team NEPO, has been offering free medical camp for senior citizens and people with disabilities since August.
Mr. Mahendra Thapa, President, Rastriya Apanga Yuwa Sanjal Nepal, shared his opening remarks and thanked the organizers for showing such good support for differently-abled in the time of need. Dr. Abhash Acharya, President NAMSS; Dr. Sushant Bhandari, Board Member, IMDF, Dr. Robyn Shrestha, Vice President, AMDRF, Dr. Sanju Karki, Joint Secretary, Team NEPO, Dr. Pradip Adhikari, Dr. Pratima Dhakal, Dr. Ajay Rajbanshi, Dr. Kamal Bikram Paudel, and Dr. Mahesh Aryal chaired the opening ceremony and served the patients at the camp afterward.
Opening Ceremony was moderated by the President of Team NEPO, Dr. Nigam Paudel. ‘Being in the field of health care and medicine, it has been very crucial for us to look after old age homes and differently-abled hostels to provide special health care especially in the time of COVID. It’s equally important to observe COVID SOP and vaccinate people, to reduce the impact of Covid and prevent future spread. Therefore, we are trying our best to be in service of senior citizens and differently abled’ said Dr. Nigam.
Neeva and Rajesh Pradhan from Pradhan Family Philanthropy send wishes for the success of the camp virtually earlier this morning and share, the camp will not only assess and address their current health complaints but also help to strengthen their immune system to overcome the pandemic.
Physicians prescribed medicines as per their complaint and also counseled and provided them with hygiene, and immune kits with soap, masks, and immune tea.
The camp was supported by Pradhan Family Philanthropy, coordinated by Rastriya Apanga Yuwa Sanjal Nepal and organized in collaboration with Nepal Ayurveda Medical Students Society and Integrative Medicine Development Foundation.
Earlier, Team NEPO had organized free medical camps at Sankhadhar Jestha Nagarik Sewa Kendra, Kirtipur, Divya Sewa Niketan Old Age Home, Golfutar, and Manav Sewa Ashram, Bhaktapur.
